Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is
a process of prayer, learning, and personal discernment for adults who
wish to consider joining the Catholic Church, as well as adult baptized
Catholics who have not received their first Communion and Confirmation.
Sessions begin in September of each year and continue through the
celebration of the Rites of Initiation at the Easter Vigil service.
Ministry of Praise
Ministers of Praise are parishioners who
pray in their home for the needs of the St. Terrence Community and the
world. They receive a newsletter from the parish focusing on the
needs of the community. Members are given a book of suggested prayers
and a certificate of membership in the ministry.
Sacristans
Our sacristans attend to the beauty of the
Church. They change and wash the altar linens, change the altar candles,
and maintain a clean and beautiful environment in our Church.
Ushers
Ushers fulfill a very unique ministry of
service to our parish. They assist in welcoming and greeting our
parishioners and visitors as they enter Church for the weekend mass.
They also help to direct people to available seating when we have a
large attendance. Ushers arrange to have people from the assembly
bring up the gifts during the mass, and they collect the financial
offerings that people have brought as their gift. At the end of
Mass, the ushers hand out the Sunday bulletin which contains information
about the life of our parish family.
Wedding Facilitators
Wedding Facilitators are couples or
individuals who assist couples and their bridal party on the night of
the wedding rehearsal. They lead them through the wedding
rehearsal and answer any questions or concerns of the bridal party.
If they are present on the day of the wedding, they again assist the
bridal party in facilitating the celebration of the wedding day.
